NAC Grassroots

The National Advocacy Campaign Grassroots Task Force is in full swing developing a national grassroots network. The goal is to have a group in each composed of ANCOR members, Self Advocactes, Direct Support Professionals and other stakeholders for each state. Mission

The Grassroots Task Force is charged to build an extensive and comprehensive grassroots network across the U.S. to support the NAC's legislative and public awareness goals and initiatives.

Goals and Initiatives

Currently the Task Force has 18 members and a goal of broadening the task force to include an ANCOR member representative from each state.
Introduce and work toward passage of complementary Direct Support Professional Recognition Resolutions in each state that mirror the resolutions passed in late 2003 by both houses of the U.S. Congress.
Work in conjunction with the PR Task Force to increase state and local media and public awareness of the scope and mission of the NAC.
Work in conjunction with the Fundraising Task Force to evaluate strategies for broad-based fundraising efforts among Direct Support Professionals, consumers and family members supported by ANCOR member agencies.
Work in conjunction with the Advocacy Task Force to move its agenda forward.
