Meeting with governor to discuss:

  • Meaningful incusion of consumers in implementing Olmstead v. L.C.
  • Immediate steps to move people who have been identified as needing more integrated setting
  • Process for assessment of community integration needs of all people with disabilities in institutions
  • Process for meeting assessment and service needs of people with disabilities newly entering system
  • Identification of state budget requirements and requests for initial and subsequent phases of implementing Olmstead v. L.C.
  • Expectation that by 7/26/2000, state will have in place a comprehensive, effectively working plan to address implementing Olmstead v. L.C.

State coalitions obtain FY 20001-2 state budget proposals and scrutinize level of support for home and community based services and supports; report funding status to national coalition.




State coalitions report to national coalition and media on the state's progress in meeting the integration needs of people with disabilities already identified - milestone is that people are moving at the same rate as or faster than before Olmstead v. L.C.
