ANCOR Vice President Ron Wisececarver Delivers Recommendations for Rehabilitation Act and Workforce Investment Act

ANCOR Vice President for Policy Ron Wisecarver delivered ANCOR’s comments and recommendations for the reauthorizations of the Rehabilitation Act (Rehab Act) and the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) at two public forums held in Washington, DC during the week of June 17th. Both the Rehab Act and WIA must be reauthorized, or approved, by Congress by September 30, 2003.


The Department of Education’s Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA), responsible for implementation of the Rehab Act’s programs, held a series of public forums this spring to solicit public comments for the law’s reauthorization. The Department of Labor also hosted a series of meetings this spring to gather public input for WIA reauthorization. The final forum, held Friday, June 21st in Washington, DC focused on the role of WIA's local One-Stop Centers serving individuals with disabilities.
