H1N1 Pandemic Over: Vaccine Available in Plenty

Health officials have reported that the H1N1 pandemic is officially over.  This year’s flu season is expected to return to normal.  There should be enough vaccines available this year for everyone who needs one.  Due to viruses changing from year to year even if you received the vaccine last year you should still get it again this year. Federal officials recommend that anyone older than six months be vaccinated this year.  This year’s vaccine is a “three-in-one vaccine” that protects against H1N1 as well as two other viruses.  Antibodies take about 2 weeks to develop so make sure to get your vaccination early.
