House Will Not Move on Standalone Fiscal 2012 Spending Bills
House Republican leaders will take no action on standalone fiscal 2012 spending bills in September. This greatly reduces the chances of the House passing the 12 annual appropriations measures before the beginning of the fiscal 2012 year on October 1, 2011. The Republicans plan to instead focus on efforts to spur job growth through reducing federal regulation.
The House will have to pass a stopgap continuing resolution.
It remains unclear what the Senate will do but they must at a minimum also vote on the stopgap continuing resolution.
