How to Post Your MVP Stories

1) Go to the ANCOR Connected Community (http://ancor.connectedcommunity.org) and click "Log in to see members-only content" at the top-right of the screen.

2) Once you're logged on to the ACC, select "Directory" from the top navigation bar and "All Communities."

 

3) In the search box, type in "Medicaid Forum" and click on the Medicaid FORUM Community.

 

4) On the right-hand side of your screen, you will have the option to "Join the Community." Click on this to be able to join the community and post in the discussion thread.

 

5) You will be asked whether you want to join the Medicaid FORUM Community. Click OK.

 

6) You will then be asked how you want to receive your messages. Choose "Real Time" if you'd like receive posts from this community when they are made or "Daily Digest" if you'd like to receive posts once a day. Click Save. You will then be notified that you have been successfully added to the group and a confirmation will be sent to your email address.

 

7) Once you have been added, click on "View the Discussion." You will be taken to all of the messages posted in this forum.

 

8) From the Forum discussion thread, select "Post new message" where it is highlighted in the upper left just below the search box.  

 

9) You will then be taken to the message posting screen. Be sure to type "Medicaid Values People" in the subject line. Then enter your story in the message box. Be sure to answer these three questions:

 

  • What supports and services does Medicaid fund?

 

  • How have these supports and services affected the lives of an individual you serve?

 

  • What would happen if these funds were no longer available? Don't just tell us that the supports might cease; explain how this would affect the lives of the individuals affected.

 

10) Once you've finished creating your message, click on "send" in the upper or lower right corner of the message box.

 

Story Hints:

 

  • Make the stories as specific and personal as possible. (Please keep privacy rights in mind and get the necessary permission before sharing a story with us.)

 

  • We're trying to show how Medicaid cuts will affect the people you serve, and how the cuts would affect the Direct Support Professional workforce. Stories told from their points of view will have the greatest impact. However, don't let that stop you from including stories shared by other staff members, and by the families of those you serve.

 

  • If possible, include a picture of the person sharing the story. Simply attach an image to the message post. Select "attach" from the bottom left corner and follow the prompts.
