House and Senate Introduce GOP FY 2016 Budget Proposals

March 18, 2015

On March 17 and 18, the House Budget Committee and Senate Budget Committee, respectively, issued FY 2016 budget proposals, approximately one month after the White House introduced its budget plan. (See WICs article, "President's FY 2016 Budget," February 6, 2015.) The GOP plans call for block grants and greater state flexibility for the Medicaid program. The Senate proposal previews a Medicaid incentive demonstration project that ANCOR has been working with Senator Chuck Grassley's (R-IA) office on. Both the House and Senate proposals suggest broad ideas on how to fix the insolvency of the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program. Additionally, they both call for a repeal of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

ANCOR's full analysis of the House and Senate budget proposals is attached below.
