According to The Hill:

“The House will vote [this] week on Senate-passed legislation aimed at making it easier for sick patients to access experimental drugs — a big priority for President Trump, Vice President Pence and groups backed by conservative mega-donors Charles and David Koch.”

PoliticoPro reported new developments over the weekend after The Hill article came out: “… Sources on and off the Hill told POLITICO there was a last-minute effort to get a different version that would address some patient safety concerns. Senate Democratic leadership including HELP Committee ranking member Patty Murray, along with House Energy and Commerce majority and majority staff, were reportedly collaborating as the weekend approached.”

Politico Pulse further elaborated this morning: “Senate leaders today are planning to gauge lawmakers’ interest in a new version of a “Right-to-try” bill that has language addressing how adverse events are reported, bringing it closer to the House version of the effort.

The new version is expected to include a handful of other minor changes to make it more like the version the House approved in March, H.R. 5247 (115).”
