Legislation to Repeal the ACA Goes to Senate and Fails

The legislationintended torepeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA)—aptly titled the Repealing the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act (HR 2)—has passed the House by a vote of 245–189. The bill has now gone to the Senate where Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has pledged to block all efforts to repeal the ACA. From the opposing side, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has said, “I assure you, we will have a vote on repeal.”

The legislations was defeated 47-51 with all Republicans voting for the repeal.
