The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has opened nominations for the Family Caregiving Advisory Council. HHS has been tasked with creating and staffing the Council by the RAISE Family Caregivers Act, which ANCOR has long been a lead supporter of and which the President signed into law earlier this year. As described by HHS, the Council: “shall study and prepare findings, conclusions, and recommendations to the Secretary of Health & Human Services on: (a) Evidence-based or promising practices and innovative models for the provision of care by family caregivers or support for family caregivers; and (b) Improving coordination across federal government programs. The Advisory Council also will advise and provide recommendations to the Secretary of Health & Human Services on recognizing and supporting family caregivers.”

ANCOR members with questions about the nominations should contact Esme Grant Grewal at [email protected]. The deadline for submissions is December 3, 2018.
