President Names New HHS Acting Secretary

October 16, 2017

ANCOR is monitoring the nomination process for the HHS Secretary position. It is still unclear who will replace former Secretary Tom Price permanently; names ANCOR has heard mentioned are former US Senator Rick Santorum, current U.S. Representative Marsha Blackburn, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, or CMS Administrator Seema Verma. Should Seema Verma be nominated, this would raise the question of who would replace her as CMS Administrator. We have not yet heard of an official short list, however - these are names being floated.
