Senator Casey Shares Concerns About Kavanaugh Nomination, Requests Documents

On August 22, 2018 Senator Casey (D-PA) issued a fact sheet listing his concerns with the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh for U.S. Supreme Court Justice, focusing on disability and aging issues. Using his position as Ranking Member of the Senate’s Special Committee on Aging, Senator Casey also sent a letter to Senator Grassley, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, requesting the release of all documents pertaining to the Kavanaugh nomination. The Judiciary Committee has jurisdiction over all judicial nominations, and has scheduled a hearing on the Supreme Court nomination for September.
