Senator Rubio (R-FL) Requests HHS Prepares for Post-Irma Spread of Zika

“As part of a letter writing campaign to Federal agencies, Florida Senator Marco Rubio asked the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to prepare for a possible spread of Zika in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma hitting Florida.

Rubio wrote that the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has indicated that mosquito populations greatly increase after storms, and on top of that the CDC continues to warm people to protect themselves from the Zika virus when traveling to Miami-Dade. Put that together and the Florida Senator believes that will create a situation that needs to be prepared for.” Read the full article here.
