June 10, 2015 - 5:00pm to 6:00pm

Description

The 2014 Home and Community-Based Services Waiver (HCBS) regulations hold enormous potential for the way support services are provided to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These new regulations mark one step closer to the promise of the Olmstead Decision - upholding the "most integrated setting possible" standard of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act!

In this presentation we will think about the commitments expressed through the many varieties of person-centered planning that have resulted in meaningful change in the lives of people with disabilities. We will also think about the potential effects of the focus on person-centered planning in CMS regulations.
