ELEVATE: The 2022 ANCOR Annual Conference

For more than 50 years, ANCOR members have lifted up people and communities, reaching for new heights to show what’s possible when we believe in the promise of community inclusion for people of all abilities. As we begin to write the next half-century of our community’s story, it’s time to reach higher, dream bigger and be bolder as we work to take community-based supports to the next level.

After two long years of connecting virtually, we’re thrilled to finally bring our community together for this hybrid Conference experience! Our 2022 Conference theme, ELEVATE, recognizes the many ways in which we’ve risen to unforeseen occasions in the past two years and the myriad ways we will take community-based I/DD services to the next level.

Bigger and stronger than ever before, the ANCOR community will come together for three days to elevate our past, our present, our future. Whether you join us on Florida’s Gold Coast or choose to participate virtually, we’ll come together to celebrate our community’s accomplishments, to lift up what works when it comes to solving some of today’s most pressing challenges, and to elevate our shared vision for a truly inclusive future. Together with you, we look forward to celebrating—and elevating—during ANCOR’s 2022 Annual Conference, April 11-13 in beautiful Miami, Florida!

ANCOR remains committed to the health and safety of its members, friends and everyone who chooses to participate in our events.

To ensure the health and safety of all of our guests, we will be implementing the following precautions during the face-to-face experience for the 2022 ANCOR Annual Conference. By registering to participate in the face-to-face experience, you acknowledge and agree to abide by these protocols.

Vaccination Requirements: All participants who enter the Hilton Miami Downtown to participate in the 2022 ANCOR Annual Conference will be required to be able to show proof that either (a) they are fully vaccinated or (b) they have been tested for COVID-19 within 48 hours prior to the start of the ANCOR Annual Conference and the test result was negative. “Fully vaccinated” means (1) you have received the second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine regimen in the past eight months OR (2) you have received one dose of a single-dose COVID-19 vaccine regimen in the past four months OR (3) you have received a third “booster” dose of any COVID-19 vaccine within the past 12 months. ANCOR reserves the right to update these requirements and definitions based on the latest available data about the effectiveness of vaccines in fighting the latest variants of COVID-19.

To demonstrate proof of vaccination or a negative test, all onsite participants must complete the health screening form prior to arriving at the Hilton Miami Downtown.

Face Coverings: All participants will be required to wear a mask or other face covering at all times while participating in the event, except when actively eating or drinking.

Hand Hygiene: To facilitate the ability of ANCOR Annual Conference participants to practice good hand hygiene, we will be supplying all participants with hand sanitizer and/or will have hand sanitizing stations positioned throughout the Conference venue.

Enhanced Sanitation Measures: ANCOR is working actively—and will continue to work actively—with the staff of the Hilton Miami Downtown to ensure that enhanced sanitation measures are followed throughout the Conference venue and in guest rooms. These measures may include, but are not limited to, more frequent sanitizing of high-traffic surfaces such as table tops and registration counters, enhanced ventilation in Conference spaces, limited housekeeping services to minimize the number of hotel staff in guest rooms, etc.

Symptom Monitoring: We ask that participants elect not to participate in the face-to-face Conference experience if they are experiencing any illness or symptoms of suspected illness, or if they have been exposed to someone who contracted COVID-19 within the past 14 days.

Virtual Conference Experience: The hybrid format of the 2022 ANCOR Annual Conference has been designed precisely to ensure that everyone can participate, even if they are unwilling to get vaccinated, wear face coverings, or believe they may be sick or may have been in close contact with someone who is sick. Therefore, we ask anyone who is unable or unwilling to adhere to the protocols described above to participate in the 2022 ANCOR Annual Conference virtually.

Liability Waiver: By registering to attend the 2022 ANCOR Annual Conference in its face-to-face format, you acknowledge that:

  1. You have read and agree to abide by the protocols described on this webpage, as well as all other ANCOR health and safety policies protocols pertaining to or distinct from those outlined herein.
  2. You understand that ANCOR reserves the right to cancel, alter, or reschedule the 2022 ANCOR Annual Conference for any reason, including because ANCOR determines in its sole discretion that the Conference cannot be held as planned. For these reasons, registrants are advised against making non-refundable travel arrangements. Should you purchase non-refundable airline tickets or make non-refundable hotel reservations, you do so at your own risk.
  3. You assume all risks associated with, resulting from, or arising in connection with, attendance at and/or participation, in any capacity, in the Conference or any Conference-related activities, including, without limitation, all risks of theft, loss, harm, damage, illness or sickness (including those caused by known or unknown infectious or communicable disease such as COVID-19, H1N1, or other illness or sickness caused by bacteria, fungi, microorganisms or viruses), or injury to the person (including death) or property damage, whether caused by negligence, intentional act, accident, act of God, or otherwise, and whether occurring before, during or after the Conference. You further agree that neither ANCOR nor its agents, officers, directors, members, contractors or employees shall be liable for illness, sickness or injuries to the person (including death) or loss or damage to property resulting from, occurring at or arising out of the Conference or Conference-related activities, including but not limited to any education sessions presented in connection with the Conference, or for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive or exemplary damages. You further release and discharge such persons and entities from, and covenant not to sue such persons and entities with respect to, any and all risks, injuries, losses, damages and liabilities described herein.
  4. You agree that the maximum liability of ANCOR to you arising from your registration, participation, and attendance at the Conference shall be the return of your fees paid to ANCOR.

If you have any questions about these protocols or the steps ANCOR is taking to ensure your health and safety, please contact [email protected].

Given the diverse range of Annual Conference participants, there’s something for everyone—including YOU!

When and where is this year’s ANCOR Annual Conference?

Our commitment to ensuring the safest possible Annual Conference experience while making the event accessible to as many who want to participate means we’re offering the option to participate in the 2022 ANCOR Annual Conference face-to-face or virtually.

The face-to-face event will take place April 11-13, 2022, in Miami, Florida, at the Hilton Miami Downtown. The virtual event will also take place April 11-13, 2022. Virtual participants will access select Conference programming via a virtual event platform powered by Attendify. Registered virtual participants should have received information about how to access the virtual platform via email during the week of March 28. If you did not receive this information and you are registered for the Conference, please email [email protected].

What does it cost to attend?

Generally speaking, pricing depends on whether you’re an ANCOR member, whether you participate in the Conference in-person or virtually, and how far in advance of the Conference you register. Additionally, special pricing is available for direct support professionals. Visit the “Register Now” tab of the Conference website to learn more.

What does my registration include?

Your registration for the in-person Annual Conference includes full access to the entire array of activities on offer at the Hilton Miami Downtown on April 11-13, including:

  • 7keynote presentations and plenary sessions
  • 25 breakout sessions
  • The presentation of the 2022 Direct Support Professional of the Year Awards
  • Multiple networking receptions and events
  • The chance to connect with 54 leading companies in the Exhibitor Lounge

Your registration for the virtual Annual Conference includes:

  • Live and on-demand access to all keynote presentations and plenary sessions
  • A limited selection of breakout sessions, with our top sessions curated especially for virtual participants
  • The presentation of the 2022 Direct Support Professional of the Year Awards
  • Dedicated time to network with other virtual Conference participants
  • The opportunity to set up times to connect one-on-one with the 54 leading companies that will be exhibiting at the face-to-face event

Registrations do not include access to Pre-Conference Sessions. Pre-Conference Sessions will only be available for participants in the face-to-face Conference and can be purchased as an add-on to your Conference registration at a cost of $149.

What precautions are being taken to mitigate the risk of COVID-19?

The decision to offer a virtual component of the Conference was made in consideration that not members of the ANCOR community are able or feel comfortable participating in large-scale, face-to-face events. For attendees who choose to participate in the face-to-face event, ANCOR is requiring proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to the Conference. Additionally, all onsite participants will be required to wear a mask or other face covering when not actively eating or drinking.

How do I demonstrate proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or proof of a negative COVID-19 test?

ANCOR is partnering with a platform called CrowdPass to complete health screenings for all participants. Attendees that are registered to participate in the face-to-face event should complete the health screening form prior to their arrival at the Conference venue.

I already registered, but can no longer attend. Can I cancel my registration?

Registrations canceled on or before March 25, 2022, will be fully refunded, less a $100 administrative fee. No refunds will be issued on or after March 26, 2022.

I already registered, but can no longer attend. Can I substitute my registration?

All registrants are entitled to one no-cost substitution provided that (1) the substitution request is submitted in writing via email to [email protected] no later than 11:59 pm PST on March 25, 2022, and (2) the registration is transferred to another employee of the original registrant’s organization. Registrants are not permitted to substitute someone from a different organization in their place. Subsequent substitutions after the first, as well as substitutions requested on or after March 26, 2022, will incur a $100 administrative fee.

I had planned to participate [in-person/virtually], but now I’d like to participate [virtually/in-person]. Can I transfer the format of my registration?

Registrants who have paid to participate in the face-to-face event who decide they want to participate virtually instead may transfer the format of their registration provided that the transfer request is submitted in writing via email to [email protected] no later than 11:59 pm PST on March 25, 2022. Requests to transfer from face-to-face to virtual submitted by the deadline will be eligible for a refund of the difference in registration costs, less a $100 administrative fee. Pricing for the newly transferred registration will be determined by the cost of registration on the date the transfer request is made. For example, an ANCOR member who registers for the in-person event at the early bird rate and then requests a transfer during the standard registration window will be refunded $200 ($799 member early bird rate – $449 member standard rate – $100 administrative fee).

Registrants who have paid to participate in the virtual event who decide they want to participate face-to-face instead may transfer the format of their registration provided that the transfer request is submitted in writing via email to [email protected] no later than 11:59 pm PST on March 25, 2022. Requests to transfer from virtual to face-to-face submitted by the deadline will be charged the difference in registration costs to the registrant’s original payment method. Pricing for the newly transferred registration will be determined by the cost of registration on the date the transfer request is made. For example, an ANCOR member who registers for the virtual event at the early bird rate and then requests a transfer during the standard registration window will be charged $500 in addition to the amount already paid ($899 member standard rate – $399 previously paid member early bird rate).

I submitted a session proposal. When will I hear whether it’s been accepted?

Session proposals are solicited in the fall prior to the ANCOR Annual Conference and submissions are typically due in November. Members of the ANCOR team review all completed submissions in December and January, and notifications were sent in January. If you completed and submitted a session proposal, you should have already received a notification whether your proposal was accepted or declined.

Who exhibits at the ANCOR Annual Conference?

The ANCOR Annual Conference is the premiere gathering of community-based I/DD service providers and the community of practitioners that support these providers. The organizations that exhibit at the ANCOR Annual Conference offer products and services that are relevant to leaders at all levels of the organizations that comprise the Conference audience. Featured exhibitors each year include ANCOR’s Diamond, Platinum and Gold Partners. Nonprofit, for-profit, academic and provider organizations are all welcome to exhibit at the Conference.

Can I exhibit at the ANCOR Annual Conference?

Unfortunately, our Exhibit Hall is completely full and several organizations remain on the waiting list. If you are interested in learning about exhibiting opportunities for the 2023 ANCOR Annual Conference, please email Mariana Nork.

What does it cost to exhibit at the ANCOR Annual Conference?

The price to exhibit includes one (1) six-foot table in the ANCOR Annual Conference Exhibitor Lounge and one (1) complementary Conference registration for the person who will staff the exhibit table. Pricing depends on the type of organization you represent (i.e., nonprofit vs. for-profit) and when you complete your registration. Visit the Exhibitors tab of the Conference website for specific pricing information.

I registered for an exhibit table, but can no longer exhibit. Can I cancel my exhibit table?

Exhibit table cancellations made on or before March 11, 2022 will be eligible for a refund, less a $100 administrative fee. No refunds will be made on exhibit booth cancellations on or after March 12, 2022.

Are direct support professionals encouraged to attend?

Yes! Not only are DSPs welcome and encouraged to attend, but there is special programming available for DSPs, including the presentation of the annual Direct Support Professional of the Year Awards. To encourage DSPs to participate in the ANCOR Annual Conference, deeply discounted registration rates are available.

Can I receive continuing education credits for attending?

ANCOR is happy to provide certificates of attendance upon request. Information about how to request a certificate of attendance will be made available onsite (for face-to-face participants) and on the virtual event platform (for virtual participants).
