The Details

Recently, there have been conflicting messages from our nation’s capital regarding Medicaid and the caregiving workforce. Last month, the Biden Administration recognized National Care Worker Recognition Month and included $150 billion in the President’s budget proposal. Additionally, Congress introduced our Direct Support Professional (DSP) Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) bill on a bipartisan basis in both the House and Senate. Amidst these deliberations, ANCOR and our bipartisan allies in Congress understand that our DSP workforce and service infrastructure are in deep crisis.

It is essential that your representatives in Washington hear directly from you, regardless of their prior involvement with disability issues. Your elected officials need to understand the significance of Medicaid-reliant supports and the importance of increased funding for their sustainability.
