Let Congress know that The Direct Support Professional (DSP) workforce and the Medicaid funded Long Term Services & Supports (LTSS) provider infrastructure are in deep crisis as a result of decades of underinvestment. t is crucial that we receive increased investments in Medicaid community-based programs to ensure individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) receive the essential services they need to thrive.
The Details
Recently, there have been conflicting messages from our nation’s capital regarding Medicaid and the caregiving workforce. Last month, the Biden Administration recognized National Care Worker Recognition Month and included $150 billion in the President’s budget proposal. Additionally, Congress introduced our Direct Support Professional (DSP) Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) bill on a bipartisan basis in both the House and Senate. Amidst these deliberations, ANCOR and our bipartisan allies in Congress understand that our DSP workforce and service infrastructure are in deep crisis.
Your engagement during this budget negotiation is crucial to ensure that people with disabilities continue to have access to the Medicaid-funded services they require.
