Position Summary
As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of our nonprofit organization, you will play a pivotal role in leading and shaping our mission-driven efforts. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our organization’s operations, strategy, and growth, ensuring effective management of resources and alignment with our mission and values. The CEO will report to the Board of Directors and work collaboratively with them to achieve our strategic objectives.
This position is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Services field or a related field from an accredited university required.
Outspoken Champion of ARCA’s mission. Highly visible leader with the ability to build a strong, team-based culture. Ability to foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability within the organization.
Minimum of five (5) years’ administrative/management experience including supervision, risk mitigation, financial management (budgeting and grant preparation) and program management required.
Demonstrated experience and skills in leadership, problem solving, public relations and organization required.
Extensive knowledge of the field of intellectual, developmental and cognitive disabilities.
Ability to represent ARCA and communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with individuals served, with co-workers, other organizations, State Legislature, the public and other entities. Must be able to work with a diverse group of people of varying cultural and educational backgrounds.
The President/CEO exercises a high degree of independent judgment, critical thinking and initiative to achieve ARCA goals. Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment and have skill in organizing work, problem solving and meeting deadlines.

Roles & Responsibilities
Works with the ARCA Board and Leadership Team to develop and implement ARCA’s vision, mission, values, and goals. Continually advances ARCA’s mission by actively participating in external associations and relevant State committees. Attends legislative sessions and is knowledgeable of existing and new legislation. Actively participates by advocating in the legislative process and with community associations. Develops service models with the Clinical Director and the Leadership Team by incorporating quality driven best practices and maintaining ARCA’s integrity through the implementation and administration of sound quality programs and services. Attends Board and Board Committee meetings. Prepares CEO report to inform Board of trends, risks, major organizational changes and initiatives and other important issues. Makes recommendations to Board. Works with the Leadership Team and other key internal stakeholders to develop and implement ARCA’s Strategic Plan. Meets regularly with the Strategic Improvement team to ensure active participation in achieving strategic goals and proper reporting of results. Responsible for developing, maintaining, and enforcing systems of internal control to ensure compliance with ARCA polices/procedures, federal, state and local laws, regulations, and contracts within all service and support functions. Works in a close partnership with the Foundation Executive Director/ Chief Development Officer to actively seek additional sources of funding and enhance ARCA’s marketing and public awareness strategies and materials. Works in partnership with the directors to develop long-range and short-range program goals, objectives and evaluation procedures designed to meet customer needs. Provides leadership to directors to achieve goals and to ensure effective and efficient management of ARCA. Works with the Chief Financial Officer to develop and institute proper and appropriate fiscal guidelines, comprehensive insurance coverage and management practices. Administers ARCA budgets to ensure accurate accounting of revenues and expenditures. Understand funding sources, the associated regulatory compliance and its fiscal impact. Works closely with Director of HR and Training to ensure ARCA employees receive robust, cost-effective, employee benefits. Participates in the HR Board Committee meetings and is actively involved in decisions regarding ARCA’s 401(k) plan, ARCA’s employee benefits, employee policy, and other employment decisions that will affect ARCA’s workforce. Actively ensures collaboration between departments and services to attract, retain and engage staff. Supervises the Leadership Team and Foundation Executive Director/Chief Development Officer.
