Position Summary

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as the agency’s top leader, reporting directly to the Board of Directors and providing strategic guidance and operational oversight for services supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

The CEO is responsible for overall organizational leadership, strategic planning, operational excellence, and financial stability, while guiding the development and execution of the agency’s mission, vision, and strategy in line with Board-approved policies and all applicable laws and regulations. This mission-driven role demands expertise in disability rights legislation, regulatory compliance, and person-centered service delivery, as well as the ability to manage complex program operations and diverse funding sources.

The ideal candidate is a values-driven leader with strong stakeholder engagement skills, financial acumen, and a proven commitment to advocacy, innovation, and community inclusion for individuals with disabilities.

Qualifications

Advanced degree in business/management, finance and/or health services is preferred. Candidate must also have a minimum of ten years’ experience in a senior leadership role.

Roles & Responsibilities

Duties include the administration of comprehensive services for one of the largest agency in Onondaga County, NY serving persons with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities and their families. Experience with fund development, strategic planning, program diversification, leadership development, fiscal management, vast regulatory oversight, quality improvement and community/media relations is preferred.

The successful candidate must have a proven ability to foster teamwork and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Experience working with a Board of Directors is essential.
