Position Summary
The Director of Talent Experience will provide key leadership over all employee relation processes and employee engagement initiatives. The Director of Talent Experience will support the mission and values of The Arc by constantly striving to promote, improve and support the development, well-being and effectiveness of all employees. The position serves as the Americans with Disability Act/Workplace Accommodations Officer. The Director of Talent Experience is a member of the Expanded Executive Leadership Team and Leadership Council.
In addition to a competitive base salary of $125,000, The Arc also provides a comprehensive total rewards (benefits) package which includes access to robust health, vision, and dental insurance; EAP; FSA; Basic Life Insurance and AD&D coverage; STD and LTD; 403(b) with up to 4% employer match; PTO, as well as 12 paid annual holidays per year. Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday during The Arc office hours, with frequent night and occasional weekend meetings or events. This position is eligible for periodic telework, which means up to 3 days per month. Telework days are not guaranteed.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related field and five years of progressive leadership experience in employee relations required; Masters’ degree and/or human resources credential (such as PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus
• Excellent oral and written communications; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage positive communication in difficult situations and the ability to provide candid/constructive feedback
• Demonstrated track record of building and managing high performing teams
• Strong ability to collaboratively engage with leaders to create, identify, and implement solutions to further the effectiveness of the organization
• Ability to negotiate conflict and lead conflict resolution while maintaining strong working relationships at all levels of an organization
• Ability to management high volumes of work, execute timely with strong work quality and accuracy
• Strong team player, internally with People & Culture team and across the organization
• Ability to effectively work within an ambiguous work environment while exhibiting adaptability and flexibility in response to business priorities and initiatives
• Ability to recover quickly from setbacks and progress forward with new or alternative solutions
• Advanced problem solving, time management, and decision-making skills required
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
• Mastery in MS Word, Outlook, and common computer programs; proficiency in Excel and HRIS systems
Roles & Responsibilities
The Director of Talent Experience will partner with Executive Leadership and other division/department leaders to manage all aspects of employee relations. Other responsibilities include to:
• Provide recommendations and counsel aligned to The Arc’s values and policies to further improve working relationships, build morale, and increase employee retention and impact.
• Develop and facilitate a dynamic employee retention strategy; partner with people managers to enhance the employee experience that lead to measurable gains in employee retention.
• Lead and serve as a coach to the Talent Experience team; provide timely and current guidance on employee relations, retention efforts, and our engagement strategy.
• Champion and organize the onboarding experience, Welcome to The Arc, to maximize full function and impact of the program.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Talent Development to continue fortifying the onboarding and offboarding experience based on industry standards and best practices.
• In partnership with Executive Leadership and the Vice President of People & Culture, facilitate a talent succession strategy to support The Arc’s current operations and future growth with a focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
• Strengthen manager/employee communication; support the development of an employee performance management strategy to provide regular and meaningful improvement, growth and accountability for employees.
• Lead The Arc’s People & Culture Talent Experience programs and events to engage team members at every level, fortifying their sense of belonging within our community.
• Provide leadership and oversight over employee recognition programs.
• Maintain HR data to support internal benchmarking; ensure that data management efforts and software-use are efficient and scalable.
• Manage and coach assigned employees and consultants.
Other Functions
• Keep up to date on HR policies, practices, trends and laws.
• Participate in related HR-networks through related associations and groups; Attend community events, meetings, and workgroups as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
