The Direct Support Professional Recognition Award is a great opportunity to highlight the dedicated, innovative direct support workforce. We hope that you will use this opportunity to highlight the important work of DSP First Name and all DSPs on the well-deserved recognition of their work.
We wanted to give you access to tools that you can use in your organization’s newsletters and outreach to your local press. The toolkit includes a template press release, sample tweets, and suggested language to post on social media, such as Facebook.
We will also be pitching a number of DSP recipient stories to media, both local and national, as part of the Included. Supported. Empowered. campaign. If your organization’s DSP is among them, we will be contacting you separately for specific permissions and more information to shape the stories.
Please note that we will announce award recipients on March 26th. We ask that you do not make your own public announcement until after that date.
Please don’t hesitate to contact Gabrielle Sedor at [email protected] or 703-535-7850 x 111 if you have any questions or need a hand reaching out to the media. If you have questions about the annual conference or the recognition ceremony, please contact Doris Parfaite-Claude at [email protected].
We are getting ready to celebrate these great individuals during our 2018 ANCOR Conference: Converge In The Big Easy, April 15-17 in New Orleans, LA, and in our 2018 Recognizing Excellence magazine.
If a DSP in your organization has been named, here are some tools you can use to spread the word (after March 26th):
- Here are templates to help you craft a press release to share with your local press and in your newsletters and communications: State DSP Award Recipients and Special Category DSP Award Recipients
- Here are sample social media messages. We’ll be sure to report all that we see!
Congratulations to our 2018 DSP Awards recipients! Keep your eyes on this site, as we'll be detailing the full-list of winners one-by-one after our conference!
