ANCOR Foundation Names Five New Inductees into Legacy Leaders Circle

Honor recognizes significant contributions to landscape of supports and services for people with intellectual, developmental disabilities

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The ANCOR Foundation is pleased to announce the 2020 class of inductees into its Legacy Leaders Circle. The new inductees include Arthur Ginsberg, president and chief executive officer of Community Residences, Inc., in Chantilly, Va.; Jan Hannah (awarded posthumously), former owner and chief executive officer of Community Living Concepts in Keene, Texas; Angela King, president and chief executive officer of Volunteers of America Texas in Euless; Cindy Kauffman, director of strategic operations at SEEC in Silver Spring, Md.; and Richard Hernandez, director of government relations, southwest region at BrightSpring Health Services in Austin, Texas.

Established in 2010, the ANCOR Foundation’s Legacy Leaders Circle recognizes long-time members of the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR) that have made significant contributions to the association and its mission of providing high-quality, long-term supports and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). ANCOR represents more than 1,600 private providers of community based disability services and to date, 98 individuals have been inducted into the Legacy Leaders Circle.

“Every year I’m humbled by the immense contributions of our nominees. Arthur, Jan, Angela, Cindy and Richard have each directly impacted our field and helped to shape the person-centered supports that people with disabilities and their families have come to expect,” said Chris Stevenson, president of the ANCOR Foundation and chief executive officer at Cedar Lake in Louisville, Ky. “Their unwavering leadership has set an example for the next generation, and their tireless commitment to their communities has had a profound impact in the lives of people with disabilities.”

As part of the ANCOR Foundation’s mission to develop and recognize exceptional leadership, the Legacy Leaders Circle supports efforts to strengthen inclusive communities. The Legacy Leaders Circle has raised more than $50,000 to support programs like the Foundation’s Leadership Academy, a two-year intensive series of trainings designed to cultivate the organizational leadership skills of the field’s next generation of visionaries.
