As a follow up to our analysis of the President’s budget proposal, ANCOR is sharing supplemental documents released by the White House to provide more details to the initial proposal. These documents, linked to below, lay out the rational that informed the White House’s decision-making and lay out program by program budget analyses. Also, another reminder that the President’s budget request is just that, a request from Congress, so nothing is in stone. However, ANCOR is paying most attention to proposals that are regulatory in nature and can be implemented without Congressional action.
Within the appendix, disability stakeholders interested in seeing the Administration’s priorities might be interested in the following budget estimates:
Department of Education (DOE): funding for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) is discussed on page 337, and vocational rehabilitation is discussed on page 339.
Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The budget discusses vouchers for people with disabilities’ housing access on page 551, project-based rental assistance on page 565, and housing for people with disabilities on page 567.
