On Monday, the Department of Labor published its final rule to implement Executive Order 14026, which raises the minimum wage for federal contractors to $15 per hour. The final rule states that the $15 per hour minimum wage will begin on January 30, 2022.

Executive Order 14026 applies to workers with disabilities whose wages are calculated pursuant to certificates issued under section 14(c) of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The Department of Labor issued guidance on how the Executive Order interacts with 14(c) certificates and when employers are permitted to continue paying commensurate wages permitted under 14(c) to workers with disabilities.
