ANCOR is sharing this item by Politico Pro because it is important for our members to stay informed of who key policy players at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) are. That is because most of disability supports in the United States are funded by Medicaid, which is under the jurisdiction of HHS.

As written in Politico Pro:

“HHS Secretary Alex Azar today announced that Paul Mango would fill the newly created position of deputy chief of staff for policy, the latest step in his reshaping of the agency’s top leadership.

Mango is currently chief of staff at CMS. Before joining the administration he had been a health care consultant and ran unsuccessfully for the GOP nomination for governor of Pennsylvania.

‘Paul is a highly regarded health care and policy leader whom I have known for more than a decade, and I cannot imagine a better choice for this new role,’ Azar said in a statement.

Azar recently named Brian Harrison to be his new chief of staff and appointed Judy Stecker as the other deputy, responsible for operations and strategy.”
