ANCOR is sharing this item for our Friday Weekly Update as a courtesy to our members who might have missed it.

As written by Donna Martin, Director of State Partnerships and Special Projects:

The Business Acumen Center Advisory Committee met this week for updates on the work of the Learning Collaboratives and progress on the Tool Kit.  We were joined by representatives from a number of stakeholders including the Administration for Community Living, advocacy groups, community based providers, and ANOCR’s own Barbara Merrill.

We reviewed preliminary results from a survey to the Business Development Learning Collaborative on the strategic goals, priorities, and struggles.  In the area of Organizational Stability, CBO’s reported that their strategic plans are focusing on Workforce primarily, Business Processes and Technology.  In the area of Growth and Development, they report a focus on Payer/Partner relationships and developing their Value Proposition.  They shared the at key pressure points they are facing include an over-reliance on one type of funding and staffing shortages.  Lastly, they shared information on other initiatives that will better position the organization for the future which include Diversification and Collaboration with other organizations and developing Integrated Care systems with other community partners.

Secondly, we walked through the most recent version of “Step 3: Execute” which is focusing on elements of Organizational Stability – Human Resources, Business Processes, Technology and Financial Management; and Capitalizing on New Business Opportunities – Knowing your Payers and Partners, Developing your Value Proposition, Marketing and Outreach, Reimbursement Methodologies and Contracting.  The Advisory Committee offered insightful feedback and suggestions for improvements to the module.  It will be finalized in the coming weeks and ready for launch!
