As announced by AAPD:

“Join us for the REV UP Webinar: Protecting the Right to Vote on April 22 from 1:00 to 2:30pm EST. During this virtual webinar, disability and voting rights advocates will share information and answer questions on the restrictive state voting bills making their way through legislatures and proposed federal voting bills and how these bills will impact voting rights. The panel will also discuss how organizers can protect voting access in their communities.

Voters with disabilities, voters of color, and disabled voters of color already face many barriers when casting a ballot, barriers that the pandemic heightened in many ways in the 2020 elections. We must expand access to voting and prevent states from further restricting voting rights to ensure our communities have full access to our democracy.

This event is hosted by AAPD’s REV UP Campaign. Launched in 2016, REV UP is made up of state, local, and national coalitions and partners that work to advance the Disability Vote. REV UP stands for “Register! Educate! Vote! Use your Power!” and REV UP’s mission is to foster civic engagement and protect the voting rights of Americans with disabilities.

This event will include ASL interpreting and live captioning. To RSVP, please fill out this registration form, and for any questions or additional accommodations requests, contact Lilian Aluri, [email protected]. You can check out more event details on the event web page.”
