University of New Hampshire Offers Free Disability-Competent Care Trainings to Health Care Providers

ANCOR has heard anecdotes in the past from members about challenges arising from health care providers who may not be aware of best practices in disability-competent care. In fact, we share many stories of Direct Support Professionals educating health care providers about people with I/DD in our Recognizing Excellence magazine. As such, we believe ANCOR members might be interested in sharing this limited time offer from the University of New Hampshire with their health care provider networks. The University is currently offering free online trainings so health care providers can learn “strategies and approaches to identify, address and help remove barriers to care.” The goal is to make care “accessible to people with intellectual, mobility and other disabilities.”
