2025 Board of Representatives Election
This summer, ANCOR will conduct an election in which Full members in good standing in select states will be asked to vote for a candidate to serve a three-year term on the association’s Board of Representatives beginning October 1, 2025. This page includes information about the call for candidates to serve on the Board of Representatives and outlines the election procedures.
Call for Nominations
According to its Charter, the purpose of ANCOR’s Board of Representatives is to serve as a conduit for the exchange of information, ideas and concerns from representative states and ANCOR members.
We are particularly interested in soliciting candidates from Vermont, which currently lacks representation on the Board of Representatives, as well as from Colorado, Kansas and Tennessee, each of which has seats that will be vacant due to recent or upcoming retirements. Therefore, we seek candidates interested in representing those states for a three-year term beginning October 1, 2025.
Additionally, there are eight states with incumbents who have indicated their interest in running for re-election. These states include Alaska, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, South Dakota and Washington. Although ANCOR’s Leadership Development Committee endorses the candidacies of incumbents, any eligible member can be run to serve on the Board of Representatives.
In most of the remaining states, there is at least one Representative serving whose seat is not up for re-election, but at least one additional Representative may be eligible to serve on their state’s behalf. Therefore, if you are a Full member in good standing operating in a state other than one of the aforementioned states, you are welcome to nominate yourself or someone else to represent your state. If your state already has the maximum number of Representatives permitted by ANCOR’s Bylaws, we will notify you via email prior to the opening of the voting period.
The opportunity to help lead ANCOR is a notable personal and professional achievement. By serving on the ANCOR Board of Representatives, you can expect to contribute meaningfully to ANCOR’s understanding of the challenges and opportunities confronting community providers in your state. Required Commitment
Members of ANCOR’s Board of Representatives are expected to attend quarterly meetings, some of which are held virtually and some of which are held in person in conjunction with other ANCOR-hosted events, such as ANCOR Connect (typically in April or early May). Participation in in-person Board of Representatives meetings is not mandatory, but Representatives must cover all travel expenses associated with attending in-person meetings should they choose to participate.
To learn more about the responsibilities and expectations of members of the Board of Representatives, please review the Board of Representatives Charter.
Eligibility Criteria
Per ANCOR’s Bylaws, interested individuals must be employed by an organization that is a Full member of the association in good standing.
Furthermore, the composition of the Board of Representatives should reflect the needs of leadership over a cross-section of demographic, service model, talent and expertise attributes. Additionally, no more than one employee of an organization may represent the same state on the Board of Representatives at the same time. For additional information, including about ANCOR’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA), read ANCOR’s diversity statement.
