50 Years of Community Inclusion
In 2020, ANCOR celebrated the 50th anniversary of its founding, while the ANCOR Foundation celebrated its 20th anniversary. Twenty-twenty also marked the culmination of Included. Supported. Empowered., the ANCOR Foundation’s three-year public awareness-raising initiative designed to lift up the successes of people with intellectual and developments disabilities, and to pull back the curtain on the important role community providers play in making those successes possible.
Although we had hoped to bring our entire community together for a 50th anniversary gala at the National Archives, the COVID-19 pandemic had other plans. Nevertheless, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to reflect on our past, celebrate our accomplishments and look forward to the future.
