ANCOR Foundation Names Seven Inductees to Legacy Leaders Circle

Award recognizes disability services professionals, raises money for leadership development initiatives

ALEXANDRIA, VA – In a ceremony at its annual meeting this week, the ANCOR Foundation inducted seven new members into the Legacy Leaders Circle. Created in 2010, the Legacy Leaders Circle recognizes long-time ANCOR members who have made significant contributions to ANCOR and the broader disability and provider community during their tenure as an ANCOR member. ANCOR members are part of a national association representing over 1,400 community service providers and 52 statewide provider associations supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to fully participate in their communities.

To date, 90 individuals have been inducted into the Legacy Leaders Circle. The 2018 inductees into the Legacy Leaders Circle are:

• Carol Beatty, Maryland Department of Disabilities, Baltimore, Md.
• Rod Braun, Christian Opportunity Center, Pella, Iowa
• Robert Budd, Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc., Old Bethpage, N.Y.
• Mike Hutcherson, Rose & Kiernan, Inc., East Greenbush, N.Y.
• John Severtson, One Vision (retired), Clear Lake, Iowa
• Chris Stevenson, Cedar Lake, Louisville, Ky.
• Tim Sullivan, The Institute of Professional Practice, Inc., Concord, N.H.

In addition to honoring the individuals recognized, the ANCOR Foundation leverages funds raised through the Legacy Leaders Circle to support the professional development of emerging leaders in the field through activities such as learning events, peer networking opportunities, leadership skills trainings and more. To date, the Legacy Leaders Circle has raised more than $50,000 to support these efforts.
