ADA Notifications Bill Advances in House

The ADA Education and Reform Act, which would require people with disabilities to notify businesses in advance of their intent to sue over physical access difficulties, has taken the first step towards becoming a bill. It has passed out of the committee of jurisdiction in the House of Representatives – the House Judiciary Committee. The next steps are a full vote by the House and then a vote by the Senate. ANCOR is deeply concerned about this legislation because it weakens the Americans with Disabilities Act.
