ANCOR Joins Coalition Letter on Public Health Emergency

Last week, ANCOR signed on to a letter from the Disability and Aging Collaborative expressing concern over the end of the Public Health Emergency (PHE) declaration. The letter was addressed to Ambassador Susan Rice, Director of the Domestic Policy Council, Dr. Ashish Jha, White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator, Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Chiquita Brooks-LaSure. The letter requests an extension of the declaration and at least 120 days advance notice before the end of the PHE. It also draws attention to the importance of the increased federal medical assistance percentage (FMAP) under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act and the potential to exacerbate the direct care workforce crisis with the end of the PHE.
