Shannon McCracken has been advocating for and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 2002, although her passion stems from a time well before then. Growing up with a family member who received waiver services for many years, she truly believes every person can have choice, personal power and control of their lives.
Shannon brings a diverse and deep background to ANCOR. Most recently Shannon was with BrightSpring Health Services (formerly ResCare, Inc.) as Vice President of Kentucky Operations. She has held leadership positions in both private and nonprofit companies, owned her own conflict-free case management company, led the state association, and served as a lobbyist and advocate.
After ten years as an Executive Director with Kentucky’s two largest providers, Shannon decided to embrace the opportunity to start her own agency, providing case management services for six years. She has been actively involved in ANCOR and KAPP, the Kentucky Association of
Private Providers, for over a decade, including serving as the state association’s first full-time executive director and dedicated lobbyist from 2015-2017, while still running her own business. During her tenure she was instrumental in the implementation of Kentucky’s Adult Caregiver Misconduct Registry. After re-joining BrightSpring Health Services in 2017, she continued in a volunteer role as Board Chair for KAPP, and under her leadership providers received the first rate increase in Kentucky in 14 years.
Her greatest passion is standing up for the people she serves, fighting relentlessly on their behalf.
