Get Ahead of the Curve for Electronic Visit Verification (EVV)!

The 21st Century Cures Act requires Electronic Visit and Verification (EVV) to be used for any Medicaid-funded personal care or home health care services provided on or after January 1, 2019, in order for states to maintain a full federal match. This applies to all waiver and state plan personal care and home health care services.

Per the Act, Electronic Visit Verification must identify the individual receiving service and type of service performed, begin and end time along with date and location of service, and the service provider delivering that service.   No national adoption of a particular or uniform EVV was recommended, though the State Director of Health and Human Services will begin recommendations of Best Practices in 2018 to State Medicaid Directors.  Providers will need a partner compliant with pending EVV requirements and additional best practices functionality.
