On February 21, Representative Bradley Byrne (R-AL) introduced a resolution of disapproval (H.J. Res. 83) which would use the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to overturn the “Volks” rule that was issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in December. The rule clarified employer obligations to make and maintain accurate records of employee injury and illness. Byrne said he is introducing the resolution in order to remove burdensome requirements and “red tape” that do not serve the purpose of protecting workers.
