Reminder: CMS Webinar on Electronic Visit Verification is Tomorrow

Because the implementation of the electronic visit verification (EVV) rule continues to raise concerns among disability providers and state officials, we encourage our readers to take advantage of tomorrow’s webinar from CMS. Demonstrating the extent of the implementation challenges, all states but one have requested good faith implementation delays (see updated list of delays granted by CMS here).

“Leveraging Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) to Enhance Quality Monitoring and Oversight in 1915(c) Waiver Programs 

The 21^st Century Cures Act requires states to implement an EVV solution to verify delivery of personal care services (PCS) by January 1, 2020, and home health care services (HHCS) by January 1, 2023. This session will cover the purpose and functions of an electronic visit verification (EVV) solution and strategies for using EVV to improve waiver program quality monitoring and oversight. CMS will discuss how states may leverage their EVV systems, including the data collected through those systems, to enhance existing fiscal and program integrity processes. Specifically, the CMS will review areas of billing validation, financial accountability, service delivery oversight, participant health and welfare, and other general considerations for states as they integrate their EVV solutions with quality monitoring efforts.
