ANCOR Advocating for Money Follows the Person program

ANCOR has been working closely with Sen. Rob Portman’s (R-OH) office on legislation that will seek to reauthorize the Money Follows the Person Medicaid demonstration program. The bill will be introduced in the next couple of weeks by Sen. Portman and Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-WA).

Highlights of the draft legislation include: extending the program for five years at current levels, a reduced period of requires stay in an institution, alignment of qualified residence with definition of HCBS setting, enhanced reporting and accountability of MFP funds, and best practices report. More to come as the bill is introduced.
