ANCOR Joins Coalition Letter on Continued Need for Stimulus Payments for Adult Dependents

Continuing our work with the Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD) on obtaining COVID-19 stimulus funding for families with adult dependents with disabilities, ANCOR joined a coalition letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on this issue. Specifically, the letter identifies filing, accessibility and administrative challenges faced by individuals and families that have not yet received stimulus payments.

The topics addressed in the letter include:

• Challenges with the tool the Treasury created to enable people who do not pay taxes to apply for stimulus payments, including unintended consequences stemming from the use of the tool being interpreted as a tax filing, thereby affecting EITC eligibility, as well as challenges for providers of legal services.
