On March 18, ANCOR joined a letter with 45 stakeholder partners to the Senate Judiciary Committee in support of President Biden’s nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the United States Supreme Court. The letter reviews Judge Jackson’s judicial record with a focus on her understanding of disability rights and other civil rights laws and their importance to people with disabilities. Since becoming a federal district court judge in 2011, Judge Jackson has shown a keen appreciation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and judicial review of effective accommodations for individuals with disabilities in our workplaces, government programs, and public accommodations.

The Senate Judiciary Committee hearings to confirm Judge Jackson began on Monday, March 21 and will continue this week. If approved by the committee, Judge Jackson will advance for a vote by the full Senate.
