CMS Administrator Seema Verma Discusses Technology at Business Roundtable Event

On December 6, 2018, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Seema Verma participated in a panel discussion at the Business Roundtable’s Innovation Summit. Specifically, Administrator Verma discussed the use of technology in controlling costs, stating: “we really feel like leaning into technology is a way to provide more efficient care, more coordinated care.”

ANCOR is flagging this comment because of challenges I/DD providers have faced in obtaining support from their states in using new technologies. ANCOR has engaged with CMS on obtaining guidance and support on the use of technologies in I/DD supports.
