The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that it extended the deadline for the public to comment on proposed regulatory changes surrounding the Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASSR) process. Originally, comments were due on April 20, 2020. The new deadline is 5 pm EDT on May 20, 2020.
The proposed changes include updating the definition of intellectual / developmental disabilities (I/DD) and requiring screening for all new applicants.
