Our members should note the following two announcements given their implications for compliance with their states’ incident management systems and for support to individuals who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid services.

  • Training giving national overview of incident management systems – September 9, 1:30-3pm ET. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a national survey to states that operate 1915(c) waivers to develop a baseline for how states administer and operate their incident management system(s). […] This training is the last in a three-part series and highlights several recommendations, based on survey findings, for how states can improve their efforts in developing robust incident management systems. Register here.
  • Release of updated Manual for State Payment of Medicare Premiums (formerly called “State Buy-in Manual”). The manual updates information and instructions to states on federal policy, operations, and systems concerning the payment of Medicare Parts A and B premiums (or buy-in) for individuals dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid. Access the manual here.
