The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued its updated 2022 Federal Poverty Level Standards. The guidelines impact the eligibility criteria for certain federal programs, including Medicaid. The update fulfills the agency’s obligation to update the poverty guidelines at least annually.

The updated 2022 guidelines reflect the 4.7 percent price inflationary increase between calendar years 2020 and 2021. The separate adjusted poverty guidelines are available now for the all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
