Do Not Miss These Medicaid Resources – Durable Equipment Payment Policies, Dual Eligible Integrated Care Models and Medicaid Statistics

ANCOR is sharing these resources by the Medicaid and Chip Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) because they could be useful for our members as they inform policy-makers on Medicaid issues. MACPAC is “a non-partisan legislative branch agency that provides policy and data analysis and makes recommendations to Congress, the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the states on a wide array of issues affecting Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).”

Medicaid statistics: “You don’t have to search across multiple data sources to get the latest statistics on Medicaid and CHIP. MACPAC publishes these data in the MACStats data book each December but updates them online as new data become available.” Relevant datasets include: spending by state, eligibility group and dually eligible status, or by state, category and source of funds, and within managed care

Compilation of state Medicaid payment policies for durable medical equipment: “MACPAC documents each state’s DME policies in this state policy compendium. A companion issue brief summarizes payment and coverage policies and issues related to DME.”

Integrated care models for dually eligible beneficiaries: “An inventory of 51 studies compiled by our contractor, the State Health Access Data Assistance Center at the University of Minnesota, summarizes available evidence on how these integrated care models have affected spending, quality, health outcomes, and access. A companion issue brief highlights key findings from the research literature.”
