ANCOR is sharing this announcement by the Department of Labor (DOL) given its relevance to the disability community and providers of supports for people with intellectual / developmental disability (I/DD) supports.
As shared by DOL:
“The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division will offer free seminars to assist employers, community rehabilitation programs (CRPs) and other certificate holders in complying with section 14(c) of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Guardians and family members of workers with disabilities and other stakeholders are also invited and encouraged to attend.
The compliance seminars will cover a range of topics including the certification process, performing prevailing wage determinations and accurately conducting time studies. The seminars will also address impacts of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), which restricts the payment of a subminimum wage rate.
There is no fee to attend the seminars; however, space is limited. If you wish to attend, please follow the registration prompt.
Each attendee must register separately.
Please limit the number of attendees from the same employer to no more than three. If an employer wishes to send more than three individuals, please contact the event coordinator.
