We are reprising this announcement so that our members do not miss the November 20 deadline to nominate up to three Direct Support Professionals per agency, per state, for ANCOR’s 2021 Direct Support Professional of the Year Awards.

Nominate an Outstanding DSP Today

This unprecedented year has stacked new challenges atop existing ones for people with disabilities, community providers and Direct Support Professionals. We know it’s been hard, and even tragic at times, but we have also seen the resilience that seems to be an attribute of every great DSP. There are so many stories to tell, and we want to hear about and celebrate these stories of incredible humans going above and beyond to provide exemplary service in the profession.

We invite you to share these stories by nominating one or more DSPs for a 2021 DSP of the Year Award!

Submitting a nomination is important for a variety of reasons:

  • It shows DSPs you appreciate their hard work throughout the year.
  • It enables ANCOR to advance its policy goals by raising the visibility of the work DSPs do in service of people and community.
  • It illustrates the critical roles DSPs play in keeping people safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic and other significant emergencies.

ANCOR will recognize a national award recipient, as many as 51 state-specific award recipients (for all 50 states and DC), and 1-2 award recipients for each of four special category awards. Nominations are due on November 20, 2020, and submissions will be reviewed by a committee of judges in late 2020 and early 2021. Honorees will be notified in February 2021 and honored in a ceremony at ANCOR’s 2021 Annual Conference in Miami. Learn more about eligibility criteria, review frequently asked questions and more on our website.

We can’t wait to hear the stories of our incredible workforce, and look forward to continuing to advocate on its behalf.
