GAO Releases Report on Medicaid Oversight and Data

ANCOR has continued to track the investigations into our programs by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) and we are hearing some new investigations are emerging from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) as well – both entities report to Congress.  GAO just issued a report in December on the need to improve reporting for Medicaid oversight. Specifically, the report looks at inefficiencies in state reported data from the Transformed Medicaid Statistical Information System (T-MSIS) that prevents the ability for proper oversight of the program.
