HCBS Heightened Scrutiny Guidance: CMS Hosted Webinar; Stay Tuned for Upcoming ANCOR “Behind the Scenes” Webinar

On March 28, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) held a webinar to explain its new guidance on the heightened scrutiny component of the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Rule. ANCOR is sharing the slides here for our members who could not participate, as well as the transcript. The core of the presentation focused on breaking down the guidance, and was followed by a Q&A component. Highlights included discussion of a six-state pilot that CMS recently undertook to better understand what states needed to comply with the heightened scrutiny requirement and discussion about potential future guidance on the HCBS Settings Rule coverage of new construction.
