ANCOR is reporting that this hearing is occurring because people with intellectual / developmental disabilities and their families rely on Social Security benefits in addition to Medicaid benefits.

On April 10 at 10am ET, the House Ways and Means Committee Subcommittee on Social Security will hold a hearing titled “Protecting and Improving Social Security.” This is part of a series of hearings on the topic – previous hearings on March 12 and 13 focused on economic security and cost of living adjustments (COLAs), respectively. While no additional information is available at this time on the April 10 hearing, we encourage our members interested in this issue to visit the Subcommittee’s webpage on that day to see if the hearing will be broadcast or if the Chair’s remarks are available – remarks are available for the previous hearings.
