ANCOR is proud to announce our support for legislation introduced by U.S. Representatives Josh Harder (D-CA) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) on Friday, the Disability Employment Incentives Act (DEIA). While a bill number is not available in the House at the time of this writing, this is the companion bill to S. 255 in the Senate, introduced by Senator Bob Casey (D-PA). The legislation would expand tax credits and deductions that are available for employers who hire and retain employees with disabilities.

As Sarah Meek, ANCOR Director of Legislative Affairs, shared in the official press release for the bill:

“We believe that once employers are encouraged to increase their hiring of people with disabilities, that the retainment will follow as they experience the impressive skillset and professionalism of the disability workforce. Not only do we fully support this bill, but we will be supportive of additional efforts to simplify the tax credit process and ensure employers are optimizing the helpful tax credit incentives.”

ANCOR will keep members of opportunities for action on this legislation as they arise.
